Mouth self-portrait images. I portray the self-portrait and include both the outside and inside of the body. The viewer looks through the mouth hole in the front cover and unexpectedly appears to be looking down my throat. Why the throat? Looking down a throat is looking toward the larynx (voice box), the origin of physical sound: voice, stories, and expression. One definition of ‘cavernous’ is that it “gives the impression of vast, dark depths” and in this artist book, ‘cavernous’ is representative of the limitless capacity that we have.
