All barcodes that come into my life are saved for a year beginning September 1, 2005. These are recorded into a log book and the barcodes are placed in ziplock bags and bound into a long book with an accordion spine. The spine color alternates between black and white for each month and after 12 months resemble a barcode. The book after a year is 28 feet with 1076 pages. The project tracks my consumption and waste. The data is recorded into an Excel spreadsheet and graphs were generated to make works on paper. Part of a group of 19 artists’ project of accumulation.
MEDIUM AND SIZE: Book arts and series of works on paper. 3 in. wide x 1-1/2 in. tall x 28 feet long (about 8.5 meters).
